About Us

Our Mission

Stroke of Light is dedicated to supporting stroke survivors and their caregivers at every stage of the recovery journey. Our mission is to provide hope, meaningful resources, and compassionate guidance helping individuals rebuild their lives with strength, resilience, and dignity after a stroke.

Inspired by Jenny’s extraordinary courage and determination as a stroke survivor who continues to defy the odds, we are driven to bridge the critical gap between hospital discharge and long-term recovery at home.

Through access to therapies, caregiver support, education, and essential services, we walk alongside survivors and their families—ensuring that no one has to navigate recovery alone.

Our Vision

We envision a recovery journey transformed—one that helps individuals and families move from isolation to empowerment, from hardship to healing, and from surviving to thriving.

Our Story

Recovery Begins with Hope

Stroke changes lives in an instant, but recovery is a long and often overwhelming road. For many families, one of the hardest realities is discovering how much support is needed after a loved one returns home. Ongoing therapy, specialized care, caregiver support, and day-to-day resources can be difficult to access, expensive to sustain, and emotionally exhausting to navigate.

Inspired by Jenny’s journey, Stroke of Light was founded to shine a light on that reality and to create a community of hope around survivors and caregivers. Jenny’s courage continues to inspire us to advocate for better support, raise critical funds, and help families access the resources they need to continue healing.

We believe recovery is not just about survival—it is about restoring dignity, building resilience, and helping people move forward with support and hope.

The Reality of Stroke

Stroke is one of the leading causes of long-term disability—and its impact extends far beyond the hospital.

Nearly 800,000 people in the U.S. experience a stroke each year.

Stroke is a leading cause of serious, long-term disability

Up to 80% of stroke survivors require ongoing rehabilitation

Many patients lose access to therapy after insurance coverage ends.

1 in 4 adults will have a stroke in their lifetime.

Family members often become full-time caregivers overnight.

Our Impact

The Gap in Recovery

For many families, the most difficult part of recovery begins after discharge.

  • Insurance limitations often cut off critical therapy too early

  • Long-term rehabilitation can cost thousands of dollars per month

  • Caregivers receive little to no formal training or support

  • Survivors frequently face isolation, depression, and uncertainty

This is where Stroke of Light steps in.

We exist to bridge the gap between hospital care and long-term recovery—providing support, resources, and hope when it’s needed most.

Be Part of the Light

Recovery doesn’t end at discharge. It begins at home—and no one should have to navigate that journey alone.
